Elevator Pitch Competition This event is open for all EMU students and takes place at the end of the winter semester every year. The curriculum revolves around lean business frameworks and models. The certificate in entrepreneurship and technology is for students registered in UC Berkeley in any major.
Some of the topics it covers include coding, hardware, 3D printing, introduction to entrepreneurship, and digital production design.
Only the organizers and the judges will have the access to the complete business plan.
Business Plans can be for a for-profit or non-profit business Business Plans can be for a start-up business or for an expansion of an existing small business with less than employees. Apart from a cash prize, students also gain valuable feedback from experts as well as coaching.
Graduates can also work with and learn from fast-growing companies. The program consists of workshops open to students, faculty, staff, recent alumni, and postdocs, and prepares students to apply for seed funding from Y Combinator and angel investment groups.
The center supports student startup founders by way of academics, leadership and networking opportunities.
Thanks to the large number of partnerships that the university has with regional and international businesses, students from the university have open doors to several industries, including, financial services, healthcare, information technology, hospitality, tourism, and biotechnology.
